The Music Ministry
To bring together people, instruments, and songs to create a worship atmosphere through music at Second Missionary Baptist Church. We currently consist of five Choirs, which are the Senior Choir, Male Chorus, Young Adult Choir, Youth Choir, and the Mass Choir which consist of a combination of all choirs. This gathering of Christian Worshipers is devoted to Ministering through songs and teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the inherent promises associated therewith. At the sound of the melodious music, the church body becomes united and all focus turns to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Deacon Donald Biggs, Ministry Leader
Second Missionary Baptist Church Missions and Outreach
Ministry will carry on missions representing God’s Church while serving on a religious mission to spread a religious faith among unbelievers and to engage in charitable work with religious support, reaching out to the community, spiritually and physically, through scripture, prayer, teaching the Word of God, providing food and clothing to the needy, and sending missionaries out to promote Christianity in a foreign country. Following the Great Commission as stated by Jesus, our Lord and Savior, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20, NKJV)

The Second Missionary Baptist Church Male Chorus
A group of Christian men United together for the purpose of glorifying God through music. We believe in our choir we bring people of different backgrounds together in a unique and remarkable way, and that through music we can help heal divisions created by our past, spread the benefits and joys of choral singing throughout this church and our community. We encourage men (young and older) to come and join us on Saturday mornings on the third Saturday of each month where we are devoted to singing on the third Sunday of each month.
Deacon Donald Murphy, President
We are an active ministry group of adults who love to sing and have a desire to serve God through giving their musical abilities back to him. The Choir leads in some of the musical parts of our worship service primarily on the first Sunday of each month. They have a selection of sacred music that spans a variety of musical styles from classical to gospel to contemporary anthems and songs. Rehearsals are held on Saturday mornings from 11:00-12:00 and we are always looking for people who want to join us in proclaiming the Good News and giving glory to God in the process!
Deaconess Ministry
Our mission is to support our Pastor in his ministry and vision for the church. To stand upright before God our Father. Through prayer, study and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we prepare ourselves spiritually to assist in the spiritual responsibilities of the church and to glorify God through our service to others under the spiritual guidance of the Pastor and the Deacons. To maintain a team relationship with the Deacon Ministry, acknowledging that we are co-laborers in implementing the functions of the church ministry, especially the ministering of the Holy Ordinances of Communion and Baptism. By doing so, we will strengthen the church and assist in advancing the kingdom of God.
I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea.
